The Genesis’ engine is a 311-horsepower, 3.8-liter V-6 with 293 pound-feet of torque. It runs on regular unleaded gas, has direct injection for better gas mileage—and it sings up its rev range responsively with the standard 8-speed automatic. The 2016 Genesis adopted a new roofline and grille that are striking in combination. Down the side, and especially from the rear quarters, the passing references to BMWs are unmistakable. Inside, the big luxury sedan trades some vertical shapes and curved silhouettes for straight lines and sharp edges. It’s done an amazing job at emphasizing horizontal lines and a flatter presentation that’s more flattering than before.
When received the Genesis was put through our shop and underwent and passed our rigorous multi point safety inspection. The front brakes are at 70% with the rear brakes at 50%. The front tires are 7/32nds and rear tires are at 5/32nds.
